Naksan Park: Ihwa Mural Village

Art can transform anything.

In December last year, I had the pleasure of walking through Naksan Park and coming across the Naksan Public Art Project: Ihwa Mural Village.

The project was established in 2006 and over 70 artists painted murals and artwork to transform the road from Hyehwa Station to Naksan Park. It has become a hot spot for tourists and you can always see a number of people waiting to take pictures and interact with the murals and artwork.

You are first greeted with a man with a briefcase and a dog walking out towards the city and perfectly into the sunset. Once you start walking around the streets, you are welcomed by a variety of paintings. Here are just a few that I was able to photograph.
