Film Review: Ravenous (Les Affamés)

To bring in my favorite holiday, Halloween, I will be sharing with you some of my favorite horror and monster films from around the world. To start off, I bring you the French-canadian zombie horror film, Les Afffamés or Ravenous, written and directed by Robin Aubert.

I was first introduced to this film by my uncle and at first I was opposed to watching it, because zombie films stress me out the most. But, I was hooked. It wasn’t one of the typical zombie films that I have seen. The cinematography itself by Steeve Desrosiers was gorgeous, but the way the film was written and how the characters were portrayed, it felt as if that is what life might really look like after an unexpected zombie apocalypse.

The film is artistic and not overdramatic or overdone like most. It keeps you guessing and makes you really think about who we are as humans. This is a film I highly recommend and it is a movie that you need to watch the post-credit scenes for. Trust me when I say, it will get you talking and you will end up watching it again. It isn’t a movie just to watch once and forget about.
